WHAT IS BLOODSTONE (HELIOTROPE) MEANING
The name heliotrope is derived from Greek “helios” meaning «sun" and “trope” meaning “direction". It is called a green variety of chalcedony with bright red spots or stripes oxidized hematite. A stone with this name was already mentioned in the writings of Pliny (I in. N. E.).
